A partnership blending innovation, industrial expertise, and circular economy principles

The historic Italian rice producer Riso Gallo has identified Biova Project as an ideal sustainability-focused investment partner, aligning with its corporate mission and positioning on environmental issues.
Biova Project's business model is built on a clear vision: rescuing massive quantities of unsold bread, pasta, rice, fruits and vegetables from inevitable waste, transforming them into high-value-added products.
As a B Corp and ISO 22000 certified company, Biova Project incorporates up to 30% secondary raw materials in its range of anti-waste beers and snacks made from brewing byproducts. The company also operates a surplus recovery service for businesses, applying circular principles to both sourcing and distribution - often making suppliers of surplus materials into distributors of the final products. With proprietary technologies and recipes, Biova Project has built a nationwide recovery network collaborating with multiple supply chain partners.

Riso Gallo stands as one of Italy's largest food companies, a sustainability leader synonymous with quality rice. The company actively improves resource efficiency and reduces supply chain waste through partnerships with startups and Italian businesses to transform rice byproducts.
This investment follows their 2023 collaboration creating Action Biova beer, brewed from red rice fragments supplied by Riso Gallo.
“We immediately recognized shared values with Biova Project regarding sustainability,”
stated Emanuele Preve, CFO of Riso Gallo
"After working together, we're even more convinced of this partnership's potential with an established Italian startup that minimizes environmental impact and extends red rice's lifecycle. We're confident this investment will yield innovative solutions for product surplus."
"This partnership with Riso Gallo holds tremendous significance,"
added Franco Dipietro, Founder & CEO of Biova Project.
"It enables us to leverage our assets while embarking on an open innovation journey with an industry leader. The synergistic possibilities are vast, promising rich opportunities for shared learning and experimentation."
